About the Artist

Caroline Gilson

Art has been my bailiwick since I was a child. For me, creative expression is a meditation, an escape and a tool for exploration. I work in various mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, graphite and charcoal. My style ranges from realism to expressionism with a high focus in figurative art. I earned my BFA at the University of Utah studying under professors John Erickson, Xi Zhang and V. Kim Martinez, all of whom had a tremendous influence on my growth as an artist. I still consider myself to be a work in progress (like many of my works); my body of work will continue to transform and grow as I do. I view my career in the arts as the garden in which I continue to grow. Thank you for viewing my works
